Howard Gets Hitched

Howard Stern, famous for his scandalous radio show, tied the knot for the second time this Friday. He married his longtime girlfriend, Beth Ostrosky, in a traditional ceremony at Manhattan's Le Cirque restaurant. Though he once worried on air that marrying the actress and model would ruin a good thing, he took the plunge anyway.

Meanwhile, celebs on the West Coast were celebrating for different reasons. Disney Channel stars and 7,000 of Miley Cyrus' closest friends gathered in Disneyland to wish her a Sweet 16. The party culminated in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle with a grand finale, which included 16-feet-tall birthday candles and a fantastic firework show to the tune of Hannah Montana's hit 'Best of Both Worlds.' The Teen Queen's best birthday gift wasn't for her though. She helped donate $1 million to Youth Service America, an organization that encourages kids to volunteer.

In the racing world, victory tasted sweet for Tony Stewart, who won his first race this season. Technically Regan Smith finished first at Talladega, but he was dropped to 18th after he dipped under the boundary lines during the race. Stewart knows that feeling all too well; he was the first convicted of the same rule-breaking in 2001.

Things heated up on the campaign trail this weekend. After Sarah Palin accused Barack Obama of associating with terrorists, the Democratic Party camp struck back against John McCain. In a new video, the Obama campaign highlights McCain's connection to a political scandal that was part of the Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s. McCain was one of the five senators, known as the Keating Five, who were investigated for intervening with bank regulators on behalf of Charles Keating. In the end, McCain was chastised for 'poor judgment' by the Senate ethics panel. Will McCain's prior history hurt the presidential candidate in the presidential election? Your vote will decide. If you haven't taken the time to register to vote in the 2008 election, do it today.

Finally, just what we've all been waiting for: an end to high gas prices. Even though it seems that all we've seen over the past few months are rising gas prices, low gas prices may finally be in sight. Just as the stock market dropped, oil prices fell below $90 a barrel today, bringing the price to an eight-month low.

Did we miss any important weekend highlights? Let us know! Don't forget to come back tomorrow for more of the best news and gossip on Hot Searches.

Fall In Love With New Fall Fashions

It is officially fall and retailers are quickly loading their shelves with fabulous new fall fashions. So before the cold weather starts nipping at your ankles, check out our list of top searched fall fashion for some stylish ways to stay warm and look hot this season.

Leggings, tights, pantyhose, stockings and whatever else you may call them are 'in' this season. Make the look interesting with different lengths, patterns and colors (a rainbow of which are available at American Apparel).

This fall is all about minimalism. Keep the style well-tailored and the color simple for a bold, sophisticated ensemble. For inspiration, look to the sleek dresses that blessed the fall Prada runway show. But instead of getting another little black dress, try this seasons new demure hue: gray.

Trade in those mini summer dresses for the new long and lean look of fall dresses. Long layers lengthen and slim the frame, plus they are so comfy. Check out the to-die-for lengths of Tahari pants. This season: the longer, the better!

No wardrobe is complete without fall boots, number four on our top searched list. Boots have been a fashion staple for decades, but this fall the classic footwear takes on a whole new style. When you are perusing the shoe department at stores like Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus, keep your eye out for fringe boots. Fringe style, like on this season's Michael Kors boots, give an edgier look to casual footwear. Also look for the new granny boots at Nine West and other stores. They aren't like grams wore them though; these new shoes have sexy high heels.

Searching For a University?

Choosing a university or college is a very exciting and frustrating time for both students and parents. Prospective students flip through dozens of pamphlets, scan statistics and course catalogs, chat with student academic services and still can't make up their mind at the end of the day. Parents take their kids on campus tours and offer them unwanted advice on the top colleges. Ultimately, the choice is all up to the student and it is a hard one to make.

My sister is searching for a college right now and I love hearing about her quest for the best college. Listening to her excitedly talk about the schools that interest her refreshes my many memories of college visits. Who can forget being herded around campus by a student walking backwards? Then, touring campus housing and 'university suites' (which are usually little more than dorms with a bathroom).

Still, there are more questions to consider when searching for a university education that can't always be answered with a campus tour. Do you want public or private? Which majors do they offer (maybe photography or forensic accounting)? Can you get in with your GPA and SAT score? And, most importantly, of all the great schools, which is right for you?

No matter which degree program you are pursuing, associate, bachelor, masters, or doctorate, there is a school out there for you. Now you just have to find the right one. Check out our list of the top searched colleges and universities for some ideas on what other prospective students are searching for.

Searching For a Natural Remedy?

People don't often think about what kind of stress they put on their bodies. They drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, don't get enough sleep and then they wonder why they have health problems. And when they do feel sick, the first thing they do is turn to medicine, which only adds more foreign chemicals to the body.

There is a medication for almost everything these days, like quit smoking pills and insomnia drugs. Maybe the answer to feeling better isn't loading our bodies with more strange drugs. Perhaps one of the natural health remedies on our top searched list will help ease your ailments in a more healthy manner.

Most medicines only mask symptoms until they come back again; they don't cure problems. Think about it, how could you cure your heartburn by loading your digestive system with drugs? Natural treatments, like acupuncture and aligning your chakras, look to balance your body and help it function more smoothly.

One amazing natural health remedy is biofeedback, number eight on our top searched list. This treatment technique trains patients to be aware of the control they have over their body and to recognize the signals their body sends them. With this awareness, they are then able to improve their health by identifying circumstances that trigger symptoms. It is often used in patients who suffer from migraine headaches so that they can recognize the cause of migraines.

Natural medicine also has its own types of medicines, often in the form of herbs, flowers, minerals and vitamins. For example, the Bach Flower Remedy harnesses the individual healing powers of plants to treat maladies.

You should, of course, consult a medical professional if you are experiencing severe or recurring problems, because some major medical concerns may need additional attention and treatment.

Have you ever tried a natural health remedy? Let us know! Search for more natural health remedies on AOL Search.

Who is Your Favorite Country Musician?

Country music elicits a strong reaction from almost everyone. Either listeners squeal with excitement and reach for the volume dial to turn it up, or they moan with distaste and change the song immediately. Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion of music, the second group of music aficionados often fails to appreciate the finely crafted lyrics and twang of guitar in country songs.

With notable exceptions (such as Kenny Chesney's 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy'), country musicians aren't afraid to delve deep into their emotions, be it lonesome, heartbroken or rowdy. Their songs resonate with deep passion and feeling. Check out our top searched list of country musicians on AOL Search for some of the best .

Topping the list are two of the newest up-and-coming country singers. Taylor Swift has been singing, writing songs, and learning guitar since she was young. Now, at 18, she tops pop and country music charts with singles like "Teardrops on My Guitar." Number two on our list got her start from singing live on the popular show American Idol. Now, Carrie Underwood has her song 'Just A Dream' climbing up the top country music list.

If you were lucky enough to have concert tickets to performers like Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, you already know how exciting and entertaining a country music concert can be. If you love a good show, check out tour dates coming to your local music hall.

For some good ole' acoustic guitar songs, search for some new country music from other musicians on our list, like Toby Keith and Brad Paisley. Several sites offer cheap music downloads so you don't have to break the bank while exploring out new artists. You can also listen to country music on the radio for free on AOL Radio.

Looking For an Acne Treatment?

It has happened to almost everyone. You wake up in the morning and are horrified to see that a zit has sprouted on your face overnight. Worst of all is that you know no matter what you do, it isn't going to disappear in an instant and make up can only help so much. What you can do to expedite the process is use an acne treatment.

Everybody's skin is different, so what works for your best friend might not work for you. To add to the confusion, there are a ton of different creams, pills and medications that all claim to be fast acting acne treatments. You might have to try a few different treatments before you find one that shows results on your skin. Beware though, don't stress your skin out more by trying a bunch of new acne treatments at once. That might just make things worse.

In a perfect world, acne solutions would help clear up the acne you already have while preventing future break outs, but that isn't always possible. Your acne is caused by tons of different factors, including stress, hormones, bacteria and genetics. One treatment can't tackle all of the causes, so each works in different ways.

Topping our list of the topped searched acne treatments on AOL Search is Proactiv. You have probably seen the infomercials with celebrities talking about how well it works. Their system has several different steps to help cure acne using a topical treatment.

If you are really serious about being acne free and you're not just looking for a quick fix, visit a dermatologist for a prescription acne medication. The most searched of these is Differin, a topical gel that helps prevent blocked pores. Other acne remedies include acne pills, such as Minocin, the seventh most searched treatment.

How Do You Clean Those Pearly Whites?

In the past, toothpastes were made of strange ingredients that one would never consider putting in their mouth, let alone think that they have teeth cleaning power. We've come a long way from chalk, pulverized brick and charcoal to a point where toothpastes actually do more than freshen up your mouth (although I don't know if those past concoctions even did that). Now, toothpastes boast that they'll make your gums healthier and your teeth whiter and stronger.

There are lots of brands out there, but which one is the best? You can decide. Based on our top searched list of toothpaste brands, AOL Searchers think Crest toothpaste is the best.

Gleem toothpaste also ranked on our list, and although it has been around forever, it is still effective thanks to cavity fighting sodium fluoride. Also, unlike many commercial brands, it is sugar free.

Looking to get those pearly whites even whiter? You don't need to go to a dentist for teeth whitening. Instead, you could try out Supersmile toothpaste. It is recommended by cosmetic dentists as one of the best teeth whitening toothpastes.

You won't find number ten at CVS pharmacies. Marvis toothpaste is a top shelf brand that is sold only at select retailers, like C.O. Bigelow. It comes in several delicious varieties, such as jasmine mint and paradise fruit mint. If you love a flavor jolt to get your morning started, you should also try out Tom's of Maine toothpaste. It comes in creative flavors like orange-mango, fennel and strawberry. Best of all, their toothpastes are all-natural and include no artificial ingredients or chemicals.

What is your favorite toothpaste brand? Search for more toothpaste on AOL Search or shop for them on AOL Shopping.

Looking For a Weight Loss Drink?

Losing weight would be so much less of a hassle if it was as easy as drinking water. You're in luck because it actually might be that east thanks to the many diet drinks out on the market. Weight loss beverages are packed with protein to keep your hunger at bay and your mouth busy, so you don't get boredom munchies. Their portability makes them perfect for a snack-on-the-go that will keep your stomach tied over.

Some diet drinks work as meal replacements. They have enough calories to count as a light meal, however their fat and protein content make them worthy of a dietary supplement. Diet systems, like Medifast Diet and Slim Fast, include these drinks. Just think of it as a diet-to-go!

Other weight loss drinks help you lose weight by suppressing your appetite. As a sort of liquid protein diet, these drinks also contain diet supplements to leave you felling fuller, longer.

There are several Chinese weight loss teas that claim to help you lose weight; two of them appear on our list. Most of these teas are varieties of oolong tea, a traditional Chinese tea that has been used for hundreds of years. The good thing about them is that they are all-natural and healthier than most diet pills and powders. However, there isn't solid scientific backing that these tea diets actually help shed pounds.

What diet drinks help you lose weight? Let us know! Find more weight loss drinks on AOL Search and get great tips on dieting from AOL Health.
